Our privacy policy
Last updated: July 24, 2024
Thank you for caring about privacy.
We’re happy that you care as much about privacy as we do. And we promise that you won’t encounter a page that feels like reading Shakespeare’s Hamlet. That’s two good lines to start with, right?
We take privacy seriously.
And hardly collect any information about your browsing session. Even better, we do not collect any personally identifiable Information when you’re browsing our website.
Who is ‘we’?
We are People & Products, a niche search & selection company based in The Netherlands. And we offer our website www.peopleandproducts.nl to demonstrate our best-in-class recruitment services.
Our website does not ask for your personal data.
At present, you won’t find any option on our website to purchase something from us or to funnel you into a fancy sales pipeline. We neither offer free samples or downloads with the purpose to retrieve your email address or personal data. Your data is yours and remains as such.
You decide yourself to share personal data, or not.
If you want to share anything with us, you can do so by contacting us via the options we provide on our website, including email, WhatsApp, phone and LinkedIn. Any information received by us via these channels, is considered being provided by you, to us, on purpose. And that might include personal data. We are not responsible or liable for the receipt of personal data sent to us via these channels. (We admit that this was an official line. But an obvious one as well, right?)
We collect data via our website.
We want to offer you an optimal viewing experience. So, we use a few techniques supporting that, called ‘cookie’, ‘local storage’ and ‘session storage’. These techniques collect data about your browsing behavior.
Elephant vs. Goldfish.
That sounds better than “local storage” and “session storage,” doesn’t it? Well, the analogy makes some sense, so let us explain:
We store a tiny bit of data on your device while you’re browsing our website. Part of that data is forgotten rather quickly, namely once you close our website. This is called ‘session storage’. Another part is remembered longer, say, for the very next time you visit our website. Then we’re talking ‘local storage’.
See it like this: Session storage is like the memory of a goldfish – gone rather quickly. Local is that of an elephant – we guess no explanation is needed there. Then, we store a cookie as well. And keep that one for max. 2 days. So it falls somewhere in the middle of the other two in terms of duration.
Important notice: if we’re way off here with this comparison between goldfish and elephant, or if you deeply care about justice and animal welfare, just get in touch. We will then consider rephrasing this paragraph. Until then, we keep the animals in for clarification purposes.
Here comes the official part.
We were talking ‘memory’. Browser memory on your device. So, we’re using your device to store something related our website. And according to ePrivacy Directive 2002/58/EC, access to your browser’s memory is only allowed:
- If you, as a user of our website, and owner of your device, have consented (GDPR Article 6(1) lit. a), or
- If access is considered essential for the website to function properly.
The latter option applies here, and this is why:
This website is made in WordPress and a plugin called ‘Elementor’ was used to build it (https://elementor.com). Elementor needs to remember a few things to display this website correctly, and does so by using your ‘local storage’ and ‘session storage’. In both types of storage, it saves a bare minimum amount of usage data. This data cannot be traced back to you and only tracks whether pop-ups or site bars need to be shown again or not.
This website also uses a technique called Litespeed that optimizes performance by using cache. Cache is like a log book that remembers the last few times you visited something on our site and then stores it, so it can quickly display that site again the next time you click it. It’s like keeping a snack in your back pocket, so you don’t need to go to the kitchen every time you’re feeling hangry. (I personally ended up with a melted stroopwafel last time and then it took me ages to clean my jeans AND my couch.) Anyway, data captured by Litespeed cannot be traced back to you.
The table below summarizes this:
| What | Name | Purpose |
| Session storage | elementor | Both remember if pop-ups or site bars need to be shown again, or not. |
| Local storage | elementor | |
| Cookie | _lscache_vary | Ensures that users get the right content by managing different versions of cached pages. |
| Session storage | litespeed_docref | Remembers which pages to cache for faster and more efficient page loading. |
If you’re thinking, “Wait, am I only here to learn about four techniques that capture data of which not a single bit traces back to me?” Yes, that’s it. As we said before, we take your privacy seriously.
No personal information is collected or shared.
We believe you get the picture by now: We don’t gather any personal data or information via our website that can be traced back to you. No data is sent to Elementor, Litespeed, us, our website operator’s server, or any third party, that can be traced back to you. Pretty reassuring, right?
Here comes the anti-climax.
Your rights according to GDPR.
Now there are these GDPR rights. And we need to tell you all about it.
It’s gonna be short and sweet.
- We don’t have or use your personal data.
- So we can’t disclose it.
- Neither can we transfer it.
- We can’t delete it. You can, by removing your browser’s history.
That was the GDPR part.
2 more boring things. (but you’re almost there, promised)
- We have no control over any information that reaches us by email, Linkedin, whatsapp, text messages or by phone. We will take the utmost care in handling that information according to our best privacy practices, but assume no responsibility or liability for having received personal information via these channels.
- We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The latest effective policy is posted online, and you’re probably reading it right now.
Thanks again.
Big kudos for reading all the above. It might not have been the most exciting read, but we tried to make it as clear as possible.

If you have any questions, Better Call Saul. He helped us setting up this page.
Jokes aside: contact us in case of concerns or questions. Our contact information is in the footer of our website. But we prefer that you contact us to meet candidates that stand out, not only fit in.
Why wait?
